Chapter 1
My husband fvcked his buddy's sister.
He even brought her home, having sax with her on different places, but told me he only loved me.
"Antonio, are you really afraid that Grace might leave you?" I overheard his mistress asked.
Without a second thought, he replied, "I can't live without her. If she leaves, I'll go crazy."
How could he say he loved me while fvcking another woman?
I would go abroad in fifteen days. I'd like to see if he would really go crazy by then.
***
"Hello, I'm here to apply for immigration."
Grace Parrish stood at the counter, handing over her paperwork.
The clerk quickly stamped her documents and gave her a receipt.
"Ma'am, your application will be processed in fifteen days. Please wait patiently," said the clerk.
Grace nodded, turned, and walked out. The clerks murmured in confusion behind her.
"Am I seeing things? Why did Mrs. Kaufman apply for immigration? Did she and Mr. Kaufman have a fight?"
"Even if they fought, it shouldn't have gotten this bad. Mr. Kaufman really dotes on his wife. What made Mrs. Kaufman decide to leave the country?"
"Exactly. Five years ago, Mr. Kaufman had this huge wedding for Mrs. Kaufman. Everyone knew about it. I barely ever go online, and even I heard about it. Three years ago, she had a bad car accident, and he gave her half his blood, even though everyone told him not to. Last year, she disappeared for an hour, and he had people searching everywhere. Now she's just leaving without telling him? He's gonna lose it."
Hearing the gossip, Grace had a wry smile spreading across her face.
Indeed, everyone knew how much Antonio doted on her.
It was no secret that Antonio, the CEO of the Kaufman Group, was ruthless and cold. He kept his distance from women. None of them could ever get close to him.
Antonio changed when he met Grace at a party.
Antonio fell for Grace at first sight and did everything to win her over. He gave her fancy cars and jewels, even put on a three-day fireworks show. Once, in a snowstorm, Antonio drove all night to bring her a chestnut cake she'd mentioned. He was soaked and freezing, but he handed her the cake, still warm from the oven.
It wasn't until the day her parents were killed in a car crash that she finally accepted him.
That day, Antonio was about to close a deal worth billions in New York, he ditched it all to rush back to her.
When Antonio finally reached her, he was a mess. His eyes were red, but he pulled her close.
He soothed her, "Grace, I'm here. I'll always be by your side."
Grace looked into his eyes, feeling her heart skip a beat.
"He's my Mr. Right," Grace thought.
Antonio loved her with all his heart. But three months ago, he couldn't resist temptation and hooked up with his buddy's sister. They left signs of their fling all over the couch, kitchen, and bedroom.
Antonio thought he could keep it under wraps, but nothing could stay hidden forever.
The moment Grace found out, she felt gutted, lost, and totally betrayed. Finally, she faced the music and decided to leave for good.
The Kaufman family had a military history, meaning nobody in the family could leave the country, including Antonio.
If she went overseas, he would never track her down.
Grace put her immigration papers in the bag, hailed a cab, and headed for the Riverfront Estates.
The second she walked into the Kaufman's villa; a strange smell hit her right in the face.
Antonio was hanging up decorations with a woman. After hearing the door open, they turned and looked at her.
Antonio paused. Then his eyes warmed up as he walked over and took her hand.
"Grace, why are you dressed so lightly? You must be freezing. Didn't you hang out with your friends? Why are you back so early? I was just about to surprise you."
Surprise?
Grace looked up at Antonio, her eyes lingering on his neck.
There was a large hickey.
Her eyelashes flickered, trying hard to hide the ache in her heart.
Since Grace didn't say anything, Kenna Gardner, standing nearby, giggled and came over.
"Grace, Antonio really dotes on you. He went all out for your first encounter anniversary..."
Kenna paused deliberately and then pointed to a pile of gifts on the side.
"Look! Antonio prepared all these gifts for you."
Grace followed her gesture but first spotted the damp spot under the gifts.
At that moment, Grace was totally shocked. The smell she'd sensed earlier and that sign... They all confirmed her suspicion.
She thought, "Love me, huh?
"Did he seriously have sex with Kenna right next to my gifts? And they made out so hard they soaked half the sofa?!"
The pain was unbearable, like nothing she had ever felt before.
Antonio didn't notice the subtle changes in Grace. He just took out a necklace and put it around her neck, his voice sweet and gentle. "Grace, happy anniversary. I've prepared a candlelit dinner for us."
Grace shivered and shook her head. "No, I'm a bit under the weather."
Being with Antonio right now was a total torture.
Grace told Antonio from the start; she couldn't stand cheating.
If Antonio wasn't serious, why did he get involved with her in the first place? And if he was, why did he hook up with someone else?
The second Antonio heard she was under the weather; he was on edge.
Antonio called several private doctors to check on her, but even after they assured him that Grace was fine, he still couldn't relax. He then sent his assistant, Matt Donaldson, to grab some health supplements and personally made her a glass of milk, urging her to drink it.
After a long struggle, Grace finally fell into a slumber.
Late at night, she woke up with a dry mouth, craving some water.
When Grace opened her door, she froze in place.
The door to the next room was wide open. Bright moonlight poured in through the window, highlighting the two figures tangled up on the bed.
"That necklace is worth millions. I've been dying to have it, but you never gave it to me. Grace didn't even have to ask, and you just handed her the best gift in the world."
After their heated moment, Kenna's legs were still clinging to his waist, her tone dripping with envy.
Antonio's brows knitted as he detached himself and sat up on the bed, lighting a cigarette.
He said, "Don't you know your place? I've said it before. I only love Grace.
"If you want to keep this with me, we need to keep it secret. If she catches on, it's all over."
Kenna's face turned pale as she climbed onto him, naked, and wrapped her arms around him from behind. "I know you love Grace, but I love you too. I can't help being jealous."
Antonio didn't say anything. He just reached into his drawer and pulled out a necklace, the same style but a different color from Grace's.
"Don't be upset. I got you one too, but you have to wear it secretly. If she finds out, our relationship is over," Antonio warned.
Kenna's face lit up with joy and she quickly put it on, her neck marked with love bites.
"Thanks, Antonio. I knew you still cared about me. But why are you so afraid of Grace leaving?" asked Kenna.
Antonio said without hesitation, "I can't live without her. If she leaves, I'll lose it."
With that, he pushed Kenna down and began another round.
The bed creaked loudly under their forceful movements, and Kenna's moans echoed in the air. Far away, Grace sobbed uncontrollably.
Her eyes were red as she gazed at Antonio's face in their wedding photo on the wall.
"Antonio, I'll be waiting to see how you lose it in fifteen days," she thought to herself.
Chapter 2
Grace was awakened by a loud noise in the early morning.
She opened the door to find a woman, looking totally haggard, holding onto a guy's clothes in the garden next door, sobbing her heart out.
"David, I've loved you for ten years and even had kids for you.
"When we got married, you promised to love me forever.
"Just a few years later, you're cheating on me with another woman."
It was early morning, but a lot of people were already up and strolling around the lake. They happened to witness this dramatic scene.
As a crowd gathered in the villa area, David, who was quite a well-known figure, turned pale and quickly pulled the woman inside.
"What's wrong with you? I've told you countless times that no man stays faithful!"
Grace was in a daze when she felt a warm hand cover her ear from behind.
"Grace, don't listen to this nonsense," said Antonio.
Grace didn't turn around but murmured, "Tell me. Do all guys end up cheating?"
Antonio froze and then gently turned Grace to face him, his eyes serious. "I can't speak for everyone else, but not me. Grace, I'll only love you in my lifetime."
"You'll only love me in your lifetime? But a lifetime is so long."
Antonio gently held her, his warm breath tickling her ear. "A lifetime is long, and you're all I want."
Grace finally laughed, but it had a touch of bitterness. "What if you betray me?"
Antonio swore, "If I ever betray you, may I be struck by lightning right here."
After knowing all the truth, Grace felt a pang in her chest at the words.
She asked, "Antonio, are you really serious about making that bold vow? Aren't you scared it might really happen?"
Antonio chuckled, "Not at all. No one knows how much I love you better than me. If you doubt me, I'll show you my heart. If you still don't trust me, I'll give you my life."
Grace thought, "He is willing to give me his life? Then why can't he control his desire?"
He reeked of another woman after they had sex, yet he whispered the sweetest words to her.
"Grace, Antonio, what are you guys doing here?" A voice broke the silence from the doorway.
They turned to see Kenna, in a red dress, leaning on the door.
The next moment, Grace felt Antonio stiffen. He asked with a frown, "It's not the weekend. Why are you dressed like that? Where are you going?"
His tone wasn't like an elder's. It sounded more like a husband asking about his wife's plans, with a hint of jealousy.
Kenna caught the jealousy and grinned, "There's a company party tonight. I'm going to get a boyfriend there, so I won't be home tonight."
Antonio's expression darkened at the words. Kenna's smile widened. "By the way, Grace, what are your plans for today?"
Antonio snapped out of it, holding Grace's hand. "Grace and I are heading back to the Kaufman's manor today."
Kenna smiled and left with a polite farewell.
Half an hour later, Antonio drove Grace to the Kaufman's manor.
Antonio's parents weren't fond of Grace. They thought their once-promising son had become a lovesick fool, nearly losing his life, and they still didn't have a grandchild after all these years. Every time they met; they gave Grace the cold shoulder.
Antonio felt bad about it and tried to visit his parents as little as possible, but this time, news came that her mother, Nancy Hoffman, hadn't been feeling well lately, so he had to take Grace to check on her.
As soon as they walked in, Frank Kaufman and Nancy, who had been chatting and laughing, immediately put on stern faces.
Antonio could tell that they were giving Grace the cold shoulder, and he immediately flared up. "If you keep doing this, Grace and I won't be coming back."
His words were met with a slap on the table from his father, Frank. "How dare you say that? Would you really turn your back on us for a woman?"
Antonio held Grace's hand firmly, not backing down. "I've made it clear. Grace is my beloved woman. I'm afraid to even raise my voice around her. How can you treat her like this? Are you trying to break my heart?
"If this happens again, I'll leave this family forever!"
Chapter 3
No one expected that Antonio would be so resolute. There was dead silence in the living room.
But Grace, looking at the guy who was so protective of her right now, felt totally numb.
Seeing Antonio was dead serious, Nancy gave in. "Fine, let's eat first."
At the dinner table, the only sounds that broke the silence were the soft clinking of silverware and Nancy's occasional snorts of disgust.
Grace clutched her fork tightly.
She knew Nancy was about to lecture her.
Just as she thought, Nancy dropped her fork.
"We don't care about anything else, but you have to give us a grandkid, right? You can't just end the family line," said Nancy.
Antonio dropped his fork too. "I've told you that Grace is scared of pain. I'm not letting her go through that. I'd rather not have kids at all!"
Hearing this, Frank and Nancy had no appetite.
As they were about to start a fight again, Grace piped up, "Frank and Nancy, you'll have a grandchild in half a month."
Her words made everyone stare at her in shock.
"Grace?" Antonio held her hand. "We said we weren't having kids. You don't have to do this for me."
Grace looked at his serious face and couldn't help but smirk.
She said they would have a grandchild, but it wouldn't be hers.
Half a month later, Grace was already abroad. Since he liked Kenna so much and always slept with her, it was only natural for Kenna to have his kids.
With this in mind, Grace grinned, "Frank and Nancy really want a grandkid. Let's make it happen for them."
Seeing how mature she was acting; Antonio felt a little uneasy.
It was just weird.
Frank and Nancy softened their faces. "That's good to hear."
Antonio felt something off and was about to ask more when his phone buzzed. He glanced at it, and his expression changed a bit.
Grace was sitting nearby and caught a glimpse of the text. It was from Kenna. "Antonio, a guy is into me and wants my number. Should I give it to him?"
Grace was counting in her heart. One, two, three...
And right on three, Antonio stood up. "Sorry, Grace, I need to head to the office for something. Take your time with dinner. I'll pick you up when I'm done."
Without waiting for Grace to reply, he just grabbed his jacket and hurried out.
As soon as Antonio was gone, Frank and Nancy dropped the act, starting to scold Grace.
"You've been married for years now, and there's no baby yet. Don't you feel ashamed?
"You come from a small family. Both your parents are gone. If Antonio hadn't liked you, you would never be Mrs. Kaufman. It was so unlucky to have you in our family.
"Are you going to cry? Don't even think about telling Antonio later. It's only natural for me to scold you. Antonio is so busy. Don't bother him with this nonsense!"
Grace was scolded from morning till afternoon for five hours.
Antonio finally showed up to pick her up in the evening.
As they drove home, Grace casually asked, "Are you done with work?"
Antonio paused and then answered softly, "Yeah."
While he talked, he tapped the steering wheel with his finger. It was a habit when he was in a good mood.
Sensing a long silence, Antonio asked, "Did Mom and Dad give you a hard time after I left?"
Before Grace could say anything, she spotted a pair of torn silk stockings under the passenger seat.
She knew he had gone to meet Kenna, but she didn't expect that they would make out in the car.
They had been married for five years, and Grace had always been kind of reserved in sex.
She was afraid that he would get bored and even asked if he wanted her to change.
He smiled, wrapped her in his arms, and kissed her. "Grace, I'm only into you. Even in rags, you'd still be the one for me. Don't force yourself to do anything you hate. I just love the way you are."
But the guy who was once so innocent was now sneaking around with another woman.
Grace's eyes filled up. "What do you think?"
Antonio had no idea that Grace already knew about his affair with Kenna. He thought she was upset over her parents.
He hit the brakes, hugged her tight, and murmured, "I'm sorry, Grace. I shouldn't have left you alone. I won't let that happen again."
Grace felt suffocated in his embrace.
She held back her tears and pushed him off. "Let's just keep going."
There was no future for them anyway.
Chapter 4
When they got home, Antonio went to park the car. Grace walked in and saw Kenna sitting on the sofa in a nightgown, eating chips and watching TV.
Grace stopped in her tracks and asked on purpose, "Didn't you say you had a party tonight and weren't coming home?"
Kenna smiled shyly, "Oh, Grace, I forgot to tell you. I had a tiff with my boyfriend, so I went to the party to piss him off.
"When I told him, he didn't care. But as soon as I got to the party, he showed up and dragged me away."
As Kenna spoke, she nonchalantly flipped her collar, showing off a bunch of hickeys, and shot Grace a sly glance.
Kenna said triumphantly, "I didn't expect he would be so jealous. We made out in the car three times."
Grace felt her nails digging into her palms. The pain spread through her.
She took a breath and asked, "When did you have a boyfriend? You've never mentioned him."
Kenna just chuckled and said casually, "Oh, just three months ago."
Kenna moved into the Kaufman's villa three months ago, right when she started her job in this city. Antonio's friend had asked him to look out for his sister.
It turned out that she had hooked up with Antonio on her first day here.
Grace breathed heavily. She was about to lose it when suddenly, a pair of strong hands settled on her shoulders.
Antonio walked in; his tone was soft. "Grace, you've had a long day. Let me run you a bath. You can rest after that."
Grace was ushered into the bathroom.
She was about to undress and soak in the tub to ease her fatigue when she remembered that she had left her clean clothes behind.
The moment she opened the door, a shocking scene flashed right in front of her eyes.
Not far away, Antonio was tearing off Kenna's nightgown in a rough, hurried way. He was pinning her down on the sofa.
He wrapped his big hand around her waist and started kissing down from her collarbone.
Kenna leaned into him, her hands on his shoulders, her head tilted back as she panted softly, "Easy, Grace is still in the shower. Didn't you get enough in the car earlier?"
Antonio held her tighter, his grip possessive. Kenna's breaths turned into soft whimpers.
He growled, "Shut up! If you ever dare to see another guy again, you'll regret it."
Kenna grinned with a mischievous glint in her eyes. Then she got a playful look on her face when she spotted Grace standing stiffly by the door.
"Alright, I won't go again. I'm all yours. You're so jealous," said Kenna.
Grace couldn't stand it anymore. She grabbed her clothes and closed the bathroom door behind her.
She sank into the bathtub, her mind drifting back to what had just happened.
Five years ago, they went on their honeymoon on a tropical island.
She took another glance at a guy with abs, and Antonio got jealous.
He kept her in the presidential suite for a whole week, not letting her step outside.
A week later, they ran out of condoms, and the bed was broken.
He held her close, his eyes begging. "Grace, I've got everything they have. Don't look at other guys, okay?"
She had to promise him over and over before he finally calmed down.
Since that day, she never dared to glance at other guys.
Now he was acting just as crazy over Kenna.
Grace lifted her head out of the water and took a deep breath.
When she stepped out of the bathroom, only Antonio was left in the room.
On the table in front of him, there was a plate of sliced fruit and a cup of steaming hot ginger tea.
As soon as she came out, he handed her a cup of hot ginger tea. "I know your period is coming. This will help."
Grace clutched the cup, the steam rising, but inside, she felt totally cold.
She was confused, wondering, "How can he act so normal?
"He was just with another woman, and now he's pretending to be a loving husband."
This thought kept her up all night.
She was just dozing off when Antonio, fast asleep next to her, suddenly shouted, "Grace!"
He jolted awake, panicking, feeling around for her in the dark.
Only when he felt her did he pull her close. "Grace, don't go!"
Grace froze. "What's up?"
Antonio's eyes were bloodshot from the dream. "I had an awful dream that you left me. I'm so glad you're really here."
Grace looked down, wanting to tell him that she would leave soon.
Maybe because of the dream, Antonio insisted on bringing Grace to work the next day.
Grace refused but he kept begging her.
Not wanting to waste time, Grace just went with him.
As soon as they arrived at Antonio's office, she saw his desk covered in pictures of her.
Seeing her staring at the pictures, he came up behind her, wrapped his arms around her, and nuzzled her neck. "Grace, lots of women hit on me, but these pictures keep me focused. Don't worry. I'm all yours."
Grace just stared at him, silent.
Right then, Matt knocked on the door and reminded him the meeting was about to begin.
Antonio held her a bit longer before letting her go, asking Grace to walk around the office.
Grace wasn't in the mood for walking, but she didn't want to hang in his office either.
Hence, she wandered every floor. Around noon, she got a call from the immigration office.
"Ms. Parrish, we need you to come sign some papers for your immigration."
Before she could reply, a familiar voice cut in from behind. "What immigration?"
Chapter 5
Grace turned around and saw Antonio, looking really scared.
As soon as she hung up, he rushed over and grabbed her hand. "Grace, who's immigrating?"
Grace kept her cool. "It's just a friend. She's thinking about moving overseas and wanted to meet up before she leaves."
Maybe she looked too calm. Antonio never thought she could be lying. But he still hugged her tight, his voice shaking with fear. "I thought it was you. You really freaked me out."
Grace forced a smile. "It's just immigration. No need to freak out."
Antonio's heart was racing as he tried to explain, "Grace, you know my family's history, right? We have three generations in the military. We're not allowed to go abroad."
Grace paused and then said, "If I mess up, you can yell at me or even hit me, but don't go abroad. Not being able to find you would kill me."
Grace, held tight in his arms, smiled softly, "I get it."
It still felt weird to him, so for the next few days, Antonio was glued to Grace's side.
Even though his friend opened a new club and invited everyone to a party, he made sure to bring her along.
He kept an eye on her every day. Grace didn't know how to sneak away to the immigration office, so she just went to the party with him.
As soon as Grace entered the private room, she was mobbed by a bunch of guys.
"Grace, have fun today. We know you like it chill, so we've got classical music playing and the place has been emptied out."
"That's right, Grace. We've prepared some desserts for you. Antonio filled us in on all your favorites."
"Come on, Grace. Have a seat here. We've got your favorite fruits all washed and ready for you."
***
Antonio watched the scene and raised an eyebrow. "Since when did you guys get so good at pleasing a lady?"
"Everyone knows Grace is the apple of your eye. If we don't keep her happy, you won't hang out with us, right?"
"It's true! Antonio, ever since you got married, you have rarely hung out with us. We're so sad, so we can only pamper Grace together with you."
Everyone was cracking up, and just as the mood was at its peak, a slim figure walked in.
It was Kenna.
The manager hurried over to stop her. "Sorry, we've got VIPs today. No other customers are allowed."
But Kenna just brushed him off and walked in directly. "Hey, Grace, Antonio. It looks like you've chartered this place. Mind if I join in?"
Without waiting for an answer, she walked right over and sat beside Grace. Under the dim lights, she guided Antonio's hand toward her skirt.
Grace shuddered a little and couldn't help but glance at Antonio. His expression changed when he saw Kenna. He wanted to get her out of there. But just as his hand touched Kenna's skirt, he closed his eyes and his fingers twitched slightly.
Right then, Grace felt suffocated.
She did her utmost to hold it together, acting like nothing had happened.
In the middle of the party, Grace excused herself and headed for the bathroom.
She kept washing her face with cold water, trying to snap out of it when a snarky voice broke the silence.
"Grace, you're still young. You should really dress to impress more instead of looking so formal."
Grace looked up and caught Kenna's reflection in the mirror, a touch of scorn in her eyes.
"Look at this." Kenna whipped open her coat, showing off a slinky lingerie set with fox designs.
"You know how guys are, right? They're all about what they see and just want to have fun. Want to bet? If I tell Antonio about my outfit, he'll probably ditch you and make out with me instead," said Kenna triumphally.
Grace shivered a bit, not uttering a word. She shook the water off her hand before going back to the private room.
Kenna walked in shortly after.
As she walked by, she casually glanced at Antonio's phone and tapped it.
Antonio glanced at his phone and saw a brief text. His throat tightened and his eyes darkened.
Then he casually tossed the phone back into his pocket and abruptly stood up.
He said, "Grace, I need to make a call. You stay here. I'll be right back."
Without waiting for an answer, he hurried out.
Shortly after, Kenna made an excuse and left too.
Watching their retreating figures, Grace tried her best to hold back her emotions, but the pain in her heart felt like a sharp knife, stabbing her over and over.
She hurt so much. She wished she could pull Antonio straight to hell with her. She couldn't wait to make him hurt more and suffer more.
As evening approached, Antonio, who was supposed to be back in the afternoon, still hadn't shown up.
The guys exchanged uneasy glances, and one of them finally stood up to suggest they take Grace home first.
They made an excuse for Antonio and said that he might be held back by something.
Grace just felt sarcastic.
What else could hold him back besides Kenna?
But she didn't say anything and just quietly left the room.
The guys kindly sent her to her car, but as soon as she got in, she realized she had forgotten her bag.
Just as she was about to go back to the room to get it, she heard a long sigh from inside.
"We finally sent Grace off. If she had stayed any longer, I would have definitely slipped up. I don't know how Antonio managed to act so well in front of Grace."
Chapter 6
Those words made Grace freeze in place.
The conversation inside the room still went on.
"By the way, it's been almost five hours! Are they done?"
"What are you here to be anxious about? Antonio is a strong young man, and Kenna is so seductive. I bet they won't come out in the next 20 hours."
"But I gotta say, they're really bold. Having sex in broad daylight right in the box next to us! You know what? I even heard moans just now. Antonio should thank me for turning up the music. Otherwise, Grace would have already noticed something. You guys don't know how nervous I was just now!"
"Come on. What's there to be nervous about? Trust me, you'll get used to it like me. Antonio finally has another good-looking woman around him. His world won't spin around Antonio anymore. We should be glad and help him enjoy it, right?"
"Grace is pretty. But she's also too plain in bed. I don't think Antonio would enjoy having sex with her. Men like excitement, you know?"
Grace didn't wanna hear it anymore.
She felt like a buzzing in her ears, and she walked out in a daze.
It turned out that everyone around Antonio knew about his affair with Kenna, and they were all helping him hide it from Grace.
Antonio's buddies appeared respectful to her. But in secret, they were helping Antonio cheat on her. They even talked about her and despised her behind her back!
At this moment, Grace felt so much pain in her heart, which even made her feel numb in her limbs.
It was pouring outside, but she seemed oblivious, walking forward numbly.
She walked alone to the immigration office and signed the papers, herself dripping wet.
Then, she walked back home and locked herself in the room.
Soon, she had a high fever.
Antonio got back home the next day and found out about her sickness. At that time, due to the high fever, she already couldn't think clearly or even recognize Antonio.
Antonio was so anxious that he immediately carried her to the hospital.
Fortunately, she just had the flu. After having a drip for almost a whole day, she finally woke up.
But Antonio still had some lingering fear. He swept his card and let the doctors and nurses in this whole building serve Grace. Apart from that, he even stopped going to the company just to take care of Grace himself.
One day, Matt came and told Antonio that a very important client wanted to meet him in person.
Antonio frowned. Just as he wanted to refuse, Matt hurriedly whispered something into his ear.
The expression on Antonio's face instantly changed a bit. After pondering for a while, he eventually let go of Grace's hand. "Grace, I..."
Before he could explain something, Grace closed her eyes and interrupted him, "Go."
Looking at Grace's calm face, Antonio somehow felt a bit of pain in his heart.
He knew that something was odd, but he didn't have time to figure that out now. He could only tell himself that Grace was just in a bad mood because of her sickness. He told himself that it was all fine.
He then asked the nurse to take care of Grace and then told Grace that he would be back soon. After doing all this, he turned and left.
Three days later, Grace still didn't see Antonio coming. Instead, she received a phone call from Kenna.
She said to Grace in a smug voice, "Grace, it's good news. I'm pregnant. I'll be a mother soon. And you know what? The father of my baby is your husband.
"He's been taking care of me these days. He would feed me carefully and even help me get out of bed. Oh, right, the doctor said that when the baby was three months old, I could have sex. When Antonio heard this news, he was so excited. That night, we had sex. You know, since I'm pregnant, there's no need for him to use a condom then. So that night, he was so aggressive that we even tried dozens of positions. Although I was tired, I must admit that it was quite an enjoyable experience. I love it.
"Oh, sorry. Did I just talk too much? Grace, you won't be mad at me, right? Well. Don't blame Antonio. After all, you just had a small fever. You know, to him, the baby matters more, right?"
Kenna meant it. She wanted to use these words to drive Grace crazy. If it were in the past, Grace might really feel hurt.
However, maybe Grace had already become numb to the pain brought by them. At this time, she didn't feel like crying at all.
She didn't respond to Kenna. Nor did she ask anything. She just silently pressed the recording button.
Meanwhile, she thought to herself, "Antonio, I'd like to see how you will feel when you hear this audio."
Chapter 7
On the day Grace was discharged from the hospital, it happened to be her birthday.
To celebrate this big day, Antonio rented the most luxurious hotel in the city.
The luxurious level of this banquet left almost all the guests both amazed and envious.
Antonio's buddies also prepared some gifts for Grace.
However, she didn't feel flattered. After what happened last time, she began to dislike them.
Seeing Grace's indifferent attitude, Antonio's buddies thought that she just looked less cheered because she had just recovered from an illness.
Soon, it was time to make birthday wishes.
Antonio held Grace in his arms, holding her hand to help her divide the cake.
Meanwhile, he asked, "Grace, it's your birthday. Do you have any wishes?"
If it were in the past, Grace would probably shake her head and say that she didn't have any. After all, at that time, all she wanted was Antonio's love.
But now, she actually had a big wish. She wanted to leave Antonio and never see him again.
She looked up at Antonio, who was also looking at her with affection in his eyes. Then, she asked, "Will you fulfill any wish I make?"
Antonio was first stunned. Then, he smiled and replied gently, "Of course."
Grace also smiled, but in the depth of her eyes, there was endless coldness. She said, "Since that's the case, I do have three wishes."
Antonio smiled dotingly, "OK. What are they? Just tell me, and I'll make them come true."
Grace turned and took out a blank sheet from her bag.
Then, she told Antonio, "My first wish is that I want you to sign your name on this blank paper."
As soon as her words fell, everyone else in the hall gasped in shock.
Everyone who did business knew that a successful businessman like Antonio would never sign his name on a blank sheet.
Otherwise, if someone with ulterior purposes got that sheet, the consequences would be huge.
Antonio had always been a cautious man. Everyone thought that he wouldn't give Grace his signature.
Unless he was crazy.
But to their surprise, Antonio just gave Grace a doting smile and then signed his name on that blank sheet without any hesitation.
"Done, Grace."
Holding that sheet, Grace secretly heaved a sigh of relief.
After all, with Antonio's signature, she could draft the divorce agreement.
After the divorce, she would be able to leave Antonio for good.
When Antonio saw the smile on Grace's face, he also felt delighted in his heart.
Then, he asked, "Grace, what's your second wish?"
Grace turned her eyes and looked at the guests in the hall.
They were all looking at her. Some of them looked shocked, and some of them looked envious. Only one of them appeared so different from the others, and that was Kenna. She stood behind the crowd, her eyes with envy and hatred fixing on Grace.
But Grace's gaze crossed over them and looked into the distance. It was as if she was looking at her future life in a foreign land.
The next second, the corners of her mouth curled up as she said to Antonio, "My second wish is that I want you to give me all your shares of the Kaufman Group."
Grace's words caused a great uproar in the crowd.
After all, Antonio's shares were worth billions. Even if Antonio loved Grace very much, he shouldn't give all his shares to her.
However, Antonio immediately called his lawyer and asked him to transfer all his shares to Grace.
Soon, Grace received a message. Looking at the electronic share transfer agreement with signature and stamp on it on her phone, she felt very happy.
As long as she sold these shares, she could definitely have a carefree and luxurious life abroad.
At this time, Antonio held Grace in his arms and bantered in a doting tone, "Grace, I'm penniless now, and you're my boss. You won't ditch me, will you?"
Grace opened her mouth. Just as she was about to speak, somebody cried out in the crowd.
"Someone's passed out!"
Antonio looked over and saw that the person who passed out was Kenna.
His expression instantly changed. Before he strode to Kenna, his good sense stopped him. He looked back at Grace and said, "Grace, I'll send her to the hospital first. Enjoy your birthday here. Just tell me your third wish through text, OK?"
"No need," Grace whispered.
Antonio didn't hear it clearly. "What?"
But Grace shook her head and said to him, "Nothing. Go."
Antonio hurriedly went to Kenna and carried her out. Looking at his receding figure, Grace chuckled.
She said to herself in her heart, "Antonio, I don't need you to help me fulfill my third wish.
"Because my third wish is to leave you for good.
"And I can make it on my own in three days."
